Win 1 of 3 12-packs of Zukay Kvass ($144 combined value)

We’ve paired up with Zukay Live Foods this week to offer a very special – and very cool – little giveaway.  Zukay Live Foods produces artisanal fermented vegetable tonics like Beet Kvass, Carrot Kvass, Vegetable Medley and others. Produced from organic vegetables, and fermented to maximize food enzymes and beneficial bacteria.  I love their

Why I Love Zukay’s Kvass

While I make my own beet kvass, I still enjoy Zukay’s blends of fermented vegetables.  Their unique blends combine a rich and concentrated flavor of vegetables with that pleasant sourness so characteristic of fermented foods.  Further, these are living foods – replete with naturally occurring vitamins, food enzymes and beneficial bacteria.  Even 7-year old enjoys the kvass, favoring the Carrot Ginger and Vegetable Medley.  I’m partial to Zukay’s Beet Ginger kvass.

About Zukay Live Foods

I first came across Zukay Live Foods at the annual conference of the Weston A Price Foundation where I met its founder, Scott Gryzbek. After finding a desire to better connect with their food, they moved to a little plot of land in Pennsylvania where they began to grow everything they could – forcing an interest in long-term food preservation.  Scott and Cathy discovered fermentation and its many benefits, and quickly thereafter they began to sell a line of fermented foods – specializing in fermented vegetable tonics like classic Beet Kvass and others, too.

Zukay is an small, artisan food producer that focuses exclusively on naturally fermented foods: salad dressing and a variety of probiotic vegetable tonics called kvass.  Zukay not only produces classics like beet kvass, but also kvasses produced from carrots, mixed vegetables, greens.  Zukay uses organically grown vegetables produced either on their farmstead or near their farmstead to reduce their carbon footprint, and ensure the quality of product they produce.
