Recipe Questions
I have a question about making a recipe.
Please keep in mind that 99% of questions you may have about a recipe are answered when you thoroughly read the recipe (and its tips).
Can I make substitutions to a recipe?
Generally, no. If a substitution or variation works, we'll include it under the "variations" heading on the recipe post.
If you are on a restricted diet or have allergies or food intolerances, you might also check out our digital guide Easy Swaps! which gives you simple substitutions for grains, gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, nuts, nightshades, and alcohol that will work in most recipes. It is available to members of our Cooking Club.
Help! The recipe didn't turn out. What did I do wrong?
We test and test and test our recipes. In most cases, if the recipe didn't turn out, you didn't follow the recipe precisely. Even small adjustments to time, temperature, and ingredients can dramatically change a recipe.
We recommend following a recipe step-by-step using the ingredients and equipment recommended.

What are your qualifications?
I am a nutritional therapist (NTP) who is certified by the Nutritional Therapy Association. NTPs are trained in foundational nutrition to make bio-individual recommendations and provide support for dietary and lifestyle changes based on client interviews, food and mood journals, and other nutritional assessments. I am also trained as an herbalist.

No. I am not a doctor and do not provide medical advice. I cannot and will not respond to health and wellness questions, questions about medical conditions, or provide individualized supplement recommendations. Please reach out to your healthcare provider with any health concerns.
Why don't you post nutritional information?
First, nutritional information is an estimate only and prone to flaws, so I can't guarantee the accuracy of the information.
Second, I think focusing on wholesome foods that taste good is a healthier approach for most people than counting calories and macros. If you have a special need that requires careful calculation, I recommend you plug the recipe ingredients and servings into your favorite nutrition tracker.
Technical Issues
Something on the site isn't working the way it should.
If you are having technical issues using this site, please let us know. Then send an email to contact us 1) a brief description of the problem, 2) your operating system, 3) your browser, and 4) whether you are using an adblocker or not. We may then ask you to document the issue with screenshots.
The recipe is blacked out. How do I log in?
Many of our recipes are reserved for newsletter subscribers only. To access them, you must subscribe to the site through our newsletter on Grow.me or cooking club or log in if you are an existing subscriber.
If you have already signed up and the content is still hidden, then you need to log in.
- Enable cookies.
- Cooking Club members should log in here to access additional perqs such as ad-free browsing, meal plans, and downloads.
- If you are not a paid member of our cooking club, then you should follow the prompts to sign in by clicking the "sign up/log in to unlock button." A pop up will immediately appear. On this screen, click "switch to login" and follow the prompts to log in.

I'm having trouble logging in. What do I do?
First, try to log in. If you're still having trouble, check your browser’s security settings. Our membership software won’t work if you’ve disabled 3rd-party cookies. You can change your settings or try a different browser.
Can I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime by accessing your member dashboard. Please allow up to 7 days before your renewal to process cancellations.
