    Winter Fruits

Apples and pears are pomaceous fruits. Their season lasts from mid-Autumn to early Winter. Use their juice in winter drinks, or in pies and crumbles.

Cranberries are typically a fall fruit, but their season stretches to early winter. Their juice is delicious, and you can turn them into sauces or combine them with other fruits, such as apples and pears.

Citrus is the king of winter. Its season begins in late Autumn and stretches to early spring. Look for oranges, tangerines, mandarins, grapefruit, lemons and limes. Specialty citrus, such as bergamot and Seville oranges, are a delicious winter treat.

Coconut is at its peak during early winter. While fresh coconut is available year-round, it's at its best in November and early December.

Dried fruit is an excellent alternative to fresh fruit during winter time. Drying fruit concentrates its sweetness and helps preserve it. It's a delicious addition to wintertime baked goods and treats.
