One Simple Change: Surprisingly Easy Ways to Transform Your Life

    One Simple Change

A few weeks ago, a little package arrived at the post office for me: One Simple Change - a new book by my friend Winnie Abramson of Healthy Green Kitchen.  I've read Winnie's site for a number of years now, reveling in her simple approach to wholesome, natural foods, and eagerly awaited the arrival of One Simple Change  for the last several months.

It's a simple book, not too long, and minimalistic in its approach as Winnie takes her readers through thoughtful, practical and actionable steps to become healthier, happier and less stressed. Winnie draws upon not only her own experience of overcoming restrictive eating and excessive exercise to a life of balance and joy, but she also draws upon her education and experience as a naturopath to provide her readers with well-researched, sound guidance in taking an informed, holistic approach to their health and wellness.

How Simple Changes Can Transform Your Life

While I tend to consider myself healthy, and devoted to wellness, I found Winnie's approach particularly helpful.  Yes, I make my own broth, cook at home, eat plenty of healthy fats, One Simple Change  went beyond the basics of health and wellness, providing me with actionable steps to help myself succeed in areas with which I struggle:  wellness in sleep habits, stress reduction and movement.

One Simple Change provides a simple, non-dogmatic approach to improving your life one step at a time. While wholesome, real food plays a critical approach to One Simple Change's steps, and recipes for everything from simple roast chicken, broth and homemade yogurt pepper the book's pages, it doesn't focus exclusively on food; rather, it takes a holistic, lifestyle-based approach to overall wellness.

Putting One Simple Change to Practical Use

Each chapter, typically only a few pages - perfect for a nighttime read - provides inspirational and practical guidance on living better: cooking at home more, not skipping meals, striving for variety, eating healthy fats, eating real salt, cutting out caffeine, growing a garden, practicing good sleep habits, dry brushing, green cleaning and more.  Each tip is substantive enough to add up valuable changes, but simple enough to enact in a week's time.  And, slowly, with fifty small changes over fifty weeks you'll have made huge strides in reclaiming your life, health and wellness.

Where to Find One Simple Change

You can purchase One Simple Change online through sellers like Barnes and Noble, Amazon and IndieBound.  You can also visit your local, independent bookseller and request the One Simple Change  if it is not already on the shelves.  Or you can always visit your local library, and ask your librarian to order it and set it on the shelves.
