This is great stuff and I think a good alternative to cane sugar given it has lower levels of fructose and glucose (a good thing) - but it is still a sweetener, and does has the same number of calories and carbs as regular sugar. If you do want to try it as an alternative - make sure it is 100% coconut palm sugar, and not palm sugar (not the same thing) and not mixed with cane sure. Enjoy!
You need to change the title description to state "brown sugar". I typed i vegan coconut sugar (as a friend had bought some at a stpre in her state and loved it), and this was near the top of Amazons list. I made the mistake of not reading everything (as in the description info listed below about the product), or enlarging the pic to read the bag. It hadn't occured to me it would be brown sugar, as the title header description didn't say BROWN sugar, it just said sugar. I did noyice it was brown when I got it. I don't normally use sugar, and almost everything I eat has little to know sugar in it, but I wanted to try making some recipes (for my non-vegan boyfriend). I tastes odd, but I'm not sure if it's bad, or just that I'm not used to any kind of sugar. If I were needing brown sugar, I might purchase it again. As it was that I needed regular sugar, no. Please add the word BROWN to the header title description.
I keep trying to find Coconut Palm Sugar that's NOT so expensive, has ONLY that ingredient without Added SUGAR so I keep trying new ones. This one is good as well as two others I've tried. Be careful to read the ingredients...always!
