I’ve been crazy busy. Between working, mothering, blogging and getting ready for vacation I don’t seem to have much time to spare lately. Nonetheless, this week was pretty fun.
What I’ve been up to:
- I finished up January’s series of posts on sweeteners. Check out the posts: Modern Sweeteners, Natural Sweeteners, and the Role of Sweeteners in the Diet.
- I railed against High Fructose Corn Syrup, again.
- And posted another mystery food. No one has actually answered perfectly correctly (they’ve gotten really, really close but google doesn’t always provide the right answer!)
What I ‘ve been checking out:
- Edible Aria. There is some good stuff there. Recipes like duck leg demi-confit as well as food news.
- Cheeseslave’s Zukay Giveaway. Zukay offers living foods like fermented salsas and condiments.
New Recipes Added:
- Chicken & Wild Rice Soup
- Roasted Butternut Squash, Quince and Apple Mash
- Honey Custard
- Quince Skillet Cake
- Pan-fried Brussels Sprouts with Piima Cream
Nourished Kitchen Community Updates:
- Ren posted an offer for 1847 Oregon Trail sourdough starter.
- Kara is still looking for a ginger beer plant.
- I still have Kombucha & Water Kefir, but shipments are delayed.
