Giveaway: Win $140 in Grass-fed Meat & Snacks for Your Next BBQ

This giveaway is currently closed. The winner will be announced shortly, in the mean time: .

GRASS-FED STEAKSummer’s last hurrah, Labor day, is fast approaching and, before the heat of summer gives way to the chill of autumn, I wanted to celebrate grilling season with one last, big bang: a giveaway for all those readers who, like me, can appreciate not only the flavor and richness of a good grass-finished steak, but also the vital role that real meat plays in nurturing and nourishing human health.  No, I don’t believe in demonizing any real, unprocessed and traditionally prepared food, and, yes, I do believe that meat is good for you.

So for all of you, who like me, can appreciate a good grass-finished steak, barely seared, or a slice of real cheese from grass-fed cows, this post is for you.  As a follow up to yesterday’s post covering my very favorite, tried-and-true homemade barbecue sauce recipe, I’ve teamed up with US Wellness Meats who produces grass-finished and pasture-raised meats to offer this giveaway: an end-of-summer BBQ package featuring ribeye steaks, burgers and franks for the grill as well as a appetizer platter of cheddar cheese, sprouted walnuts, berry trail mix and summer sausage for your guests to enjoy while they wait.  Best yet, it’s all grass-finished just the way real food ought to be produced.  I’d be insanely jealous if I didn’t have pounds and pounds of grass-fed and pasture-raised meats lurking in my freezer just waiting to be thawed and grilled for labor day picnics.

If you’re stuck on just how grass-fed meats are different, check out this post covering the difference between grass-fed and CAFO-raised meat, or learn how to pan-fry a great steak.

The Nitty Gritty Details

The Prize ($140 Value!)

  • Four Grass-Fed Ribeye Steaks (15 oz. average each)
  • 2 Pkgs. Ground Beef Patties (2/pk.)
  • Grass-Fed Beef Summer Sausage
  • Grass-Fed Beef Franks (6/pk.)
  • Organic Grass-Fed Cheddar Cheese
  • Organic, Raw, Sprouted Walnuts

If I won I would invite my sister, BIL, niece, and their “bun in the oven” for a BBQ. Her and I have made a pact to break the “fast-food way of living” that we grew up with. It is so important for us to come together as a family and teach our next generation about living healthfully.
Plus, having moved out of state a few months ago, I would be ecstatic to see their faces!

Thank you for your amazing site!

If I won all these goodies to eat I would definitely invited my parents to the BBQ who own a southern diner in my hometown. They have eaten a bit or two of our organic meat before and know that it’s quality tasting. I just need them to decide to take the time to LEARN about the food industry (that they work in) and decide to make some healthy changes for themselves, their customers and our world. :) This BBQ would be a great way to do this! I could make them watch Food, Inc right after supper!! :)

I love grass fed meat. It taste better and it make me feel better than regular meat. For the BBQ I would invite my husband and two friends. Why? I love my husband and I only have two friends here since we just moved. They are also my husband’s friends :)

  705. Gail E says:

Should I be blessed enough to win I would invite our neighbors. They are just beginning their journey of feeding their family nutrient dense foods and I would love to be able to share a dinner of grass fed meat with them!

  706. Gail E says:

I subscribe to the news letter.

  707. Gail E says:

    I’m a Facebook Fan!

  708. Nicole says:

I would invite my neighbors/good friends because they appreciate healthy foods that nourish your body!

  709. J A says:

I would invite several junk food addict acquaintances to my grass-fed BBQ. Let them taste the difference between ordinary grocery beef and grass-fed!

  710. susitravl says:

We have a great group of friends that we have BBQ’s with frequently. It’s always a carnivore’s feast, so I definitely want to share this with them.

  711. JS says:

We’d definitely invite Connie as she had the best quote at the rose society summer potluck, “We didn’t climb to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!”

  712. Kelly says:

I would love to win this to treat my family and friends to good food and fun as a thank you on labor day. My dear friends have helped me (and still are helping) to learn the ropes in a real food diet and being a stay at home mom. (praise God). I would also like to serve my husband and thank him in all the wonderful things he has done! Thanks!

  713. Kari says:

That would be a dream. My husband being a grad student and me keeping the home makes it interesting.

  714. Abby says:

I would invite my family over so that I could return the favor of all of the Grilling that they have done for me in the past.

  715. Kenny F. says:

I would invite my friend Bret and his family, as they are the ones who have turned me on to healthier eating.

  716. Marcella Hammond says:

My husband and I try to feed our son and ourselves high-quality, nutrient-dense foods, but when it comes to meat, that’s usually beyond our budget. Instead of buying crap, we’ve been trying to focus on buying the best that we can afford – for example two dozen free-range, organic eggs are cheaper than a factory-farmed roast. A freezer full of grass-fed meats would add some welcome variety, though!

    • Marcella Hammond says:

For our BBQ, we would invite my parents, who have provided us with pastured eggs and bacon and raw dairy, and our best friends.

I would have a barbeque party for my Dad, whose motto is “you can grill anything” (and so he has!). So many times my Dad is still standing at the grill tending to the meat, while the rest of us start to eat. I’d like to return the favor and cook him some awesome grass fed meat!

#2– I would invite a dear friend of mine, Molly and her husband. We both attended a memorial service for a friend last night who lost his life to colon cancer after a five year battle– far too young at 41. It really reminded us to not live thinking that we will do something tomorrow, but instead to remember what is truly important in life– and that is making time to spend with those who are important to you.

If I were to win this beautiful beef, I would invite my own mother – a no-red-meatatarian for many years. She has an allergy to corn (gives her a stomach ache) and low-and-behold, (corn-fed) beef gives her a stomach ache too. I’m thinking that if she would just TRY grass-fed beef, she would find that there is a connection with the CORN and that beef is something she CAN eat and enjoy. And Heaven knows she needs it – her arthritis is acting up and her health is not what it used to be.
