Feed Me Thursday: A Menu for a Spring Picnic

Here’s the tastiest morsels from my favorite bloggers’   feeds!   This week, I’ve gathered up some treats that would perfect for an spring picnic:

Country Pate by Cheeseslave

Country Pate by Cheeseslave

To start, I’d make Cheeseslave’s Pâté de Campagne replete with preformed vitamin A and seasoned with onion, garlic and allspice.   I do have a gnarly looking pork liver lurking in my freezer that’s calling out to be used in such a luscious and nutrient-dense recipe.

And I’d serve that pâté over toasted points of Passionate Cook’s Seeded Sourdough Bread.   I’d make a single adjustment to this: instead of using white bread flour, I’d use sprouted spring wheat flour for an extra nutritional punch.

Radish & Kefir Salad by Palachinka

After something as heavy as liver pâté and sourdough bread, we’d need something a little light, right?   Next, I’d serve Palachinka’s Radish & Kefir Salad–substituting unrefined extra virgin olive oil for the sunflower oil.   Isn’t it lovely?   The bright pink of the radishes next to the white of the kefir?

And because I love vegetables, I’d like to serve a second.   Find Your Balance’s Beets with Mint seems just perfect.   Bright mint accompanying earthy beets – what could be more wholesome?

Honey Nut & Creme Fraiche Dessert by Food Renegade

Lastly, we’d need something a touch sweet to end the meal.   And that’s where Food Renegade’s Honey Nut Crème Frâiche Dessert comes in.   This dish just couldn’t be easier.
