Mystery Food II: Onions, Salt, Corn Starch, Sugar, Corn Syrup Solids, Caramel Color, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Yeast Extract, Monosodium Glutamate, Natural Flavors Disodium Inosinate and Disodium Guanylate.
And for the record, the manufacturer promises that this is offers “Great meal ideas any day of the week!” Seriously though, disodium guanylate? That’s a new one on me.
I’m guessing dehydrated onion soup mix. Yuck!

I will be so embarassed if I guess correctly — but it’s got to be either Lipton Onion Soup mix (I think that was guessed already) or French’s French Fried Onions. I’m leaning more toward the French’s, though, since the first ingredient is onions, and I’m doubting the soup mix is predominantly made of onion. And the fried onions probably have all those icky hydrogenated oils. I mean really, how hard is it to batter and fry an onion yourself?

My initial reaction was a gravy mix, maybe by Knorr. But now I think it is the onion soup mix.
