This appetizer is easy to throw together, and you can substitute sour cream for the crème fraîche in a pinch.   Or you can make this dip truly homemade by culturing the crème fraîche yourself.   Serve the dip with vegetable crudités.   The cost per 1/4 cup serving is only $0.49.

To make Herbed Crème Fraîche Dip, you’ll need:

  • 2 Cups crème fraîche (check sources)
  • 1 Tablespoon Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Each   of Dried Basil, Dried Chives and Dried Parsley
  • Unrefined Sea Salt to Taste

Instructions:

  1. It’s simple enough.   Pour the herbs and pepper into the cream.
  2. Now mix up the ingredients.
  3. And salt it to your liking with real salt.
  4. And serve it with fresh cut up veggies.

Good advice, Paris. I guess “add these ingredients and mix it together” is too complicated, for you, eh?

    Jenny-

I was wondering if you made this from yogurt with the whey strained out of it? If so any thoughts?

Thanks. I have some organic creme fraiche that I wasn’t sure what to do with.
