I’m excited to announce that Deanna won the Cultures for Health Vegetable Fermentation Master Giveaway, and she’ll be crocking up a batch of ginger carrots in no time flat. Like many of you, Deanna subscribed, facebooked, tweeted and emailed the giveaway!
For me, announcing a giveaway winner is so bittersweet because I know that many, many of you sincerely wanted to win the vegetable fermentation master and start crocking all sorts of probiotic goodies in your kitchen. Fortunately, those vegetable fermentation masters are still on sale and Cultures for Health is offering a further discount to Nourished Kitchen readers:
Remember, the coupon code is good on everything in the Cultures for Health store excluding Excalibur Dehydrators – so not only can you pick up a vegetable fermentation master on sale, but also some yogurt or sourdough starters, a kombucha mother and even a copy of Sandor Katz’ epic book Wild Fermentation at a discount using the coupon code ( ).
For those of you who didn’t win, don’t worry, I’ll be emailing the e-book Get Cultured: Recipes from a Nourished Kitchen to you next Monday after I tweak a few details. It’ll give you the recipes for all sorts of probiotic vegetables including sauerkraut, kimchi, cortido, salsa, pickled peppers and other wonderful goodies.

I just want to put in a good word for Cultures for Health. I’ve ordered several things from them, starting with my water kefir grains. Most recently I ordered a yogurt culture that never showed up. I e-mailed them this morning, after checking the delivery messages and finding it’s been a month since they shipped it, and told them it had never arrived. They wrote back almost immediately to say, a month is too long, it’s surely been lost, thanks for your patience, we’ll send out a new one immediately.
Really nice folks, running an ethical business with great products. Hooray!
Cheers,
Jeanmarie
Oooh, curtido has a lactofermented version?!? I’ve only had the stuff you make just before dinner, which my doesn’t-like-vegetables-vegetarian four year old inhaled. I’d love to see this recipe! How will the ebook be available?
Hi, Jenny ~ I have not seen my e-book, Get Cultured. Have they been sent? I love the Nourished Kitchen site ~ I’m learning so much!
